Date | 1804-1949 |
Description | Circulars, papers prepared for committee meetings and other printed material covering a wide range of subjects relating to the Society’s work and interests in the UK and overseas 1804-1949 and a small file of facts and statistics compiled 1913-1946. Annotations and file notes indicate that at least some of the papers were loaned out.
The breadth of subject matter, chronological arrangement and extensive date range of the circulars and printed papers make them a potentially useful source for researchers searching by subject, particularly where it is unclear which of the Society's departments of work might hold records of interest.
There are some discrepancies in the chronological arrangement of material in the volumes making it advisable to search by index as well as by date where possible. |
Arrangement | Many of the items have been numbered in ink, pencil or blue crayon and some have the marks of more than one number sequences suggesting at least one change in arrangement over time. The papers have been retained in the order in which they were received by Special Collections, Cadbury Research Library which generally reflects the order given by the pencilled annotations when these are present. |
Access Conditions | For conservation reasons, where microfilm or digital surrogates are available they are made available in place of the originals. |
