Describes Winckler's illness in detail; Francis Muller's case is much more distressing for there appears no hope of recovery, he must be removed from the mission field; Muller has only two brothers, one a merchant at St Gall and another a painter at Naples; Volz is in the Missionary House and is dying; arguments are being raised locally by 'some violent Lutheran doctors of theology' relating to 'our suspected Lutheranism'.
