Riis at Akropong; suggests four candidates Lipp, Krapf, Krauss and Bandle; asks if they could have instruction in English in the home of 'a clever simple clergyman' before they enter Islington 'I have reason to believe that many collisions would be easily spared by such a course of six to eight weeks'; has heard that Ch. F. Winckler is now in England, last winter he was shipwrecked in the Texel on his way to America and spent the winter in Dusseldorf with Count von der Necke for whose institution he now makes collections; Gobat and his wife have arrived at Basel.
