Description
Dated 25 January. Mr Dawes has met Committee and given valuable information and advice relating to Sierra Leone Mission; gives favourable report on Renner and Hartwig who are well though Renner had a mild attack of fever; Dawes brought Mrs Hartwig's journal; probably by now Renner and Hartwig have been up country to arrange for a settlement. The Committee will probably desire the four seminary students to sail in Oct, enquires whether they can be ordained beforehand. Mr Dawes reported no difficulty in Sierra Leone about married men with mission devoted wives, Committee would therefore probably agree.
