With a few items concerning individual candidates in the 1948-1949 correspondence. Includes:
1926-1928 co-operation in joint ventures including minutes, papers and correspondence relating to the Board of Study for the Preparation of Missionaries appointed by the Conference of Missionary Societies in Great Britain and Ireland;
1934 paper by E. Thorpe giving observations of the Selly Oak Colleges further to a visit;
1938 Archbishop's commission on training for the ministry;
1939 training for missionaries back in the UK on their first furlough, including minutes and reports of the First Furlough Advisory Group 1938-1940 and reports from missionaries attending the Selly Oak Colleges (Miss H. D. Alton, W. India; Miss E. N. Brown, Kenya; Rev F. L. Taylor, Bengal and Bihar and Mr A. K. Birch) nd [1938-1939];
1939 report of a conference on the training of missionaries held at Woodbrooke College, Selly Oak 21-24 April;
1940-1941 possibility of joint training with students of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts (SPG) at the College of the Ascension, Selly Oak;
1942-1943 memoranda and correspondence on recruiting and training (including consideration of Selly Oak Colleges facilities and overseas staffing needs);
1944 printed memorandum entitled, 'Preparation for the Ministry' for H. M. Forces personnel wishing to enter the Church of England Ministry;
1945 correspondence, dated October-December, concerning recruiting in the post war period;
1948 papers on men candidates 1938-1949 and on women candidates 1937-1948 including some personal papers and correspondence (most notably Joan Parker's (b 1917) completed Questions for Candidates form for the Church Missionary Society of Australia and Tasmania 1941).
