TitleWomen's training
Extent8 files, 2 volumes
Date1900-[mid 20th cent]
DescriptionChiefly correspondence and papers dating from 1918 [after the Society's purchase of 'The Willows' training home], including records relating to Kennaway Hall (formerly 'The Willows'), Maresfield Gardens, Foxbury, Ridley Hall and a small sequence of records of the CMS and CEZMS Old Students' Guild.

The Guild was first appointed under the name 'Kennaway Hall Guild' at a General House meeting 21 June 1919. It was an association for former CMS and CEZMS students (and any other student resident for at least one year) with the objective of linking 'past and present members of the Family'. It was run by a committee including five current students, the Principal of Kennaway Hall as President, a Vice President and Past Students' representatives. Honorary membership was open to current and former staff and associate membership to current students. Its principal activities were production of an annual newsletter, a Bursary Fund, an annual Reunion and Retreat. Overtime the name, remit and membership of the Guild changed to incorporate St Andrew's and the move to Foxbury.
ArrangementClerk's notes and numbering on some of the items suggests that whilst the records are now arranged broadly in chronological sequence, previously separate files were held for different training institutions.
