Description | pp 21-22 resolution to ask the London Jews Society to supervise Christians connected with the Turkish Arabia Mission on CMS decision to withdraw, Home and Foreign Committee 11 November 1919; p 206 in an interview with the Home and Foreign Committee 13 April 1920, Rev[erend] W. Conlin, CMS missionary, Fuhkien [China], describes the tension arising from Shantung having been handed over to the Japanese: 'At the present time Americans are popular in China because they stand out of the Peace Treaty and therefore are not identified with the Shantung Settlement'; pp 209-212 printed interim report of the Review Committee appointed to advise on the Society's work in the UK and overseas, including, pp 211-212, a memorandum on 'Social Aspects of Christianity', General Committee 14 April 1920: 'Provision of suitable dwellings is of first importance for morality. The one-roomed tent without light or air should not contain the Christian family. A valuable method of raising the standard of living would be to make it a duty of the Church to look into these matters.' |
