The Federation Committee was appointed by the CMS Executive Committee 9 March 1932 to discuss the possibility of federation or union with the South American Missionary Society (SAMS). It was made up of representatives of five Evangelical Societies, including Dr F. Bate, W. E. Daniels, C. H. Gill, J. M. Harris, Bertram Jones [SAMS], A. J. Mortimore, Professor Beresford Pite, Miss R. Meadocks and W. Wilson Cash. It initially considered co-operative working in five key areas: editorial and publishing, exhibitions, recruiting and training, shipping and Organising Secretaries. |
