Correspondence, notes and papers relating to the work of the Education Group including the need for a Home Education Secretary and recommendations for the Executive Committee 1941; memoranda on home education and CMS youth work 1941 and a report on the home and overseas work of the Education Department February 1944-December 1945 by J. D[rewitt] (Education Secretary) including, on the home side, reference to work with schools and teachers; addresses or lectures given at missionary schools, for the CMS Lay Workers' Union and at Association meetings; lists of schools, training colleges and universities visited.

At the Executive meeting of 9 July 1941, the Education Group proposed the appointment of a full time Education Secretary, conclusions partly based on 'the foreshadowing of radical changes in the general education system of the country, and its enlargement to include adult education on humanistic and not merely technical lines.'
