The collection also includes some plans and elevations relating to UK properties associated with CMS including the Waterloo Road Headquarters.
Including papers relating to areas administered by the CMS Africa (Group 3) Committee: Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, Palestine, Sierra Leone, Sudan [now South Sudan] and Uganda, 1888-c 1960; papers relating to areas administered by the CMS East Asia (Group 1) Committee: China, 20th century; papers relating to areas administered by the CMS West Asia (Group 2) Committee: India and Persia, [c 1870]-c 1960.
Manuscript annotations on some of the plans in this series indicate that they arrived at CMS headquarters as part of the incoming mission correspondence received by the CMS Overseas Division [records now held as 'Original Papers' in the overseas mission series, CMS/B/OMS]. They are annotated in red ink with the date when they arrived at CMS headquarters and the filing number assigned by the clerks of the Overseas (Foreign) Division. There are also some records originating from the Medical Department. |
