| Extent | 1 doc. |
| Date | 1809 |
| Description | Barneth and Wenzel brought Sec.'s letter of 21 Feb, but everything on board the 'Sole Bay' frigate was lost. He has had continuous fever since Jul. He has heard from Bashia after 6 months: schools are open there and at Fantimania. The vessel hired for the Rio Pongas voyage was paid off just as it was to start. He has handed Wenzel the £28 the hiring was to cost and asks leave to lay out the £14 balance from the £180 bill on light clothing [see 6]. Governor T. P. Thompson's illness has suspended newspaper printing; he is now recovering. |
