| Description | He sends thanks for the books, stationery and medicines, reassuring him of CMS concern, notwithstanding rumours to the contrary and the apparently preferential treatment of the Rio Pongas missionaries. He sends a Bullom catechism, St. John chapter I, and the Ten Commandments, apologising for his imperfect knowledge of the language. The King and some of his entourage appeared to understand well when he read to them his translation of St. Matthew chapters I and II. He has now 15 children in school, 10 supported by CMS and 5 by their own parents. He has done no building, being uncertain of support, but has made necessary alterations in the house. |
