Administrative HistoryWilliam Brereton, of Mullingar, Ireland, was a student at the Church Missionary College, Islington from 1872 and after ordination was located to Ningpo, China, from 1876-1880. He was later transferred to Pekin from 1880-1894. He left CMS in 1880, when they withdrew from North China and joined the Society for the Propogation of the Gospel.
