Administrative HistoryMabel C. Burton, educationist and missionary. She worked in Egypt, Paelstone, Syria, Lebanon and Sudan. In 1918 she founded Jersualem Girls' College and was its first Principal. From 1937-1940 she was chair of the Education Committee of the Near East Christian Council. Her roles included member of the CMS Africa Committee, member of Near and Middle East Committee of the Conference of Missionary Societies in Great Britain, Assistant Overseas Secretary of the International Missionary Council and Middle East Adviser to the Church Mission Society.

She was author of 'The Mind and Ways of Islam'.
