Administrative History | Henry Boulton Ladbury, clergyman and missionary, was born in Edgbaston, Birmingham in 1870. Before serving with CMS, he was Assistant Master at the Board School, Crabb's Cross, near Redditch and graduated from the University of Cambridge, BA (1896), MA (1898). Ordained Deacon 1896 and Priest 1897, he was Curate of St Clement's, Nechells, 1897-1900, and of Christ's Church, Leicester, 1900-1903. He married Harriet McGuire, 19 November 1900.
Rev Ladbury was accepted as a CMS missionary, 4 November 1902. He sailed out to start work with the Uganda Mission, 7 April 1903. He continued to work in Uganda until retiring from CMS, 11 April 1934.
He survived his wife, Harriet, who died in Kenya, 13 August 1953. Rev Ladbury died at Nairobi, 10 December 1961. |
