Administrative HistoryFlorence Instone Deed (1868-1958) served as a CMS missionary in Kenya, (List II no.266) first in Rabai and later in Kaloleni for more than forty years. She translated parts of the Bible into Giryama and compiled a Giryama-English dictionary over the course of her career which was published after her death. She was awarded an MBE in the Coronation Honours 1953.

Custodial HistoryDeposited with the CMS in May 1977 and transferred to the Special Collections Department in July 2003
