DescriptionThis is a collection of papers which belonged to Martin Parr, chairman of CMS Executive Committee 1956-1970 and were used by FW Dillistone while writing his biography of Dr Max Warren, 'Into all the world: a biography of Max Warren' 1980. The papers mainly consist of letters from Max Warren to Martin Parr but also letters to B D Nicholls, CMS Publicity Director, from Martin Parr and a reprint of an article by Max Warren.

Administrative HistoryMartin Parr chairman of CMS Executive Committee 1956-1970 and Max Warren (1904-1977) CMS General Secretary 1942-1963 corresponded until Warren's death in 1977 sometimes using their pseudonyms of Atticus and Cicero. At this time Warren was recognised as the most influential evangelical in Britain and a prolific writer on Church matters.
