Administrative HistoryEvelyn Storrs Karney M.B.E. (1869-1953) began her missionary career in Gampola, Ceylon in 1895. During the First World war she undertook war work in Palestine and Egypt. She returned to Ceylon to continue her work in the village of Talawa and finally retired in 1939. She died in Ceylon in 1953.
