Administrative HistoryRev Jonathan Klein (List 1 No. 11) originated in Germany and took Lutheran Orders but spent four years in England before sailing for West Africa with his wife, Susanna, in the service of the CMS in 1811. His connection with CMS was dissolved in 1821. Rev John Godfrey Wilhelm (List 1 No. 10) of Alsace sailed with the Kleins to West Africa and in 1815 began work in Rio Pongas. He died in Africa in 1834.
