Administrative History | Aberi Kakyomya Balya was born in 1881in a small village in Uganda. As a young man he became interested in Christianity and was baptised in 1901. He later became a teacher and was encouraged by missionaries with whom he came into contact to undertake missionary work. He was ordained in 1922 and became assistant bishop of Uganda in 1948. He had already been made a CMS honorary governor for life in 1940. He retired in 1960. |
