Administrative HistoryCMS missionary, John Hind, was recruited and supported by the Dublin University Fukien Mission and sent out to China to start his missionary career in 1902. He was made bishop of Fukien in 1918 and held the appointment until his retirement in 1940. He married fellow missionary Alice Carpenter in 1904 but she died along with their infant daughter in 1908. He remarried in 1928 to Dr Florence Winifred Heyworth.
