Administrative HistoryRev Brian John Hector de Saram's connection with the CMS began in 1939 when he became a CMS mission partner in the Sudan. In 1959 he was ordained and was appointed the CMS Men Candidates Secretary 1959-1963. Subsequent appointments included Africa Secretary 1963-1970, mission partner in Cairo 1970-1972, Provost of All Saint's Cathedral Cairo 1972-1977, curate Crowborough 1977-1981, Vicar-General to the diocese of Egypt 1983-1984, Bishop's Commissary to Bishop Dehqani-Tafti 1984-1989. In 1944 he married Eileen Nobel Clarke who was a member of the CMS Women Candidates Committee 1964-1967.
