Administrative HistoryArthur Edwin Dibben (1853-1934) was born at Bishopstone, near Salisbury. After graduating from Cambridge University he was ordained and held curacies in Derbyshire and Chelsea. He was accepted as a missionary by the CMS in 1889 and was sent to the Ceylon mission, taking charge of the Galle Face Church and becoming Secretary to the mission in 1893. He was a member of the Singhalese Bible and Prayer Book Revision Committees.
He retired in 1926 but returned to the Kandyan Itinerancy before returning to England where he died in 1934.
