DescriptionThis collection of papers relate to the work of Ronald and Olive Gray, CMS missionaries in Egypt and later on headquarters staff. The collection includes correspondence and notes relating to deputation work carried out by the couple when on leave in England, papers relating to the Old Cairo Boys School and educational work in mission schools in general, papers relating to the work of the Commission on CMS Candidates Department of which Olive Gray was a member, as well as various CMS printed papers.

Administrative HistoryRonald Walpole Gray was accepted as a CMS missionary teacher and located to Old Cairo Boys' School in 1938. In 1943 he married, fellow CMS missionary, Olive Amelia Keyte, who had begun her missionary career in Old Cairo, Egypt in 1936. The couple subsequently worked in Loka and Yei in the Sudan. On leaving the Sudan and returning to England in 1964 they went to live at a CMS property in Swalcliffe, Banbury, Oxfordshire where they acted as caretakers until the property was sold.
