Administrative History | Henry Dallimore (1885-1970) CMS missionary 1914-1947 was born at Aughton, Lancashire in 1885. He graduated from Liverpool University BA in 1908 and MA in 1909. He trained for the ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford and was ordained in 1912. After serving as a curate in Liverpool he was accepted as a CMS missionary and was located to the Sierra Leone mission as Principal of Freetown Grammar School. In 1922 he was transferred to Oyo in the Yoruba mission and then to Ado Ekiti in 1929. During his time in Oyo he married, fellow missionary, Dorothy Agnes Nash. In 1931 he was appointed archdeacon in the Lagos diocese. In 1943 he was installed as an African chief with the title Akuago. He retired from CMS service in 1947 and returned to England.
