Administrative HistoryMary Noel Baxter (1898-1996) CMS missionary Victoria, Hong Kong, South China Mission 1931-1947. Mary Baxter arrived in Hong Kong to teach at St Stephen's Girl College in 1929. In 1936 she was appointed as Warden of St Stephen's Hall at the University of Hong Kong. Although she was on leave at the outbreak of war in 1939 she managed to return to Hong Kong via Canada in 1940. When the Japanese occupied Hong Kong she was interned in Stanley Internment Camp for the duration of the war and on release in 1945 returned to England.
