Administrative HistoryEugene van Cooten was a Dutch surgeon who trained for missionary service at the CMS College from 1847. In 1850 he was located to the Yoruba Mission and sailed with his wife for Badagry. After only one year in West Africa he died on 13 March 1851. His wife, Emily had already predeceased him, dying in Badagry 14 May 1850.
