Description | The papers of Rev Edward Guilford, CMS missionary Punjab and Sindh and his son, Rev Edward Montmorency Guilford, known to the family as Monty. The collection includes Rev Edward Guilford's diaries and accounts of his itineration tours in the Punjab, his correspondence both as a working missionary and in retirement, papers relating to his missionary work including many cuttings from British and Indian newspapers, certificates and licences, honours and awards including his OBE and Kaisar-I -Hind medal, family papers and photographs as well as letters and papers relating to his death. His son's papers comprise material relating to his work both as parish priest and chaplain to the forces such as his sermons, correspondence and church papers but also his personal family papers relating to his parents and other relatives and his life in retirement. |
