Custodial HistoryThe clothing was given to Brighton Museum, presumably for exhibition purposes, by Dr Arthur Durnford Iliff (CMS missionary 1933-1962; Secretary to CMS Medical Committee 1962-1972), during the time when he was working as Medical Officer in charge of the Pennell Memorial Hospital Bannu, Pakistan. The date on which it subsequently passed to CMS headquarters is not known.
Related MaterialFurther papers relating to Drs Pennell and Iliff are held in the Church Missionary Society archive held by Cadbury Research Library (GB 0150 CMS), including a diary kept by Pennell during his tour of the Punjab (CMS/Z 41).
