DescriptionCorrespondence with Richard Rutt, Bishop of Taejon (1968-), dated 5 Sep 1956 - 19 Feb 1974. Correspondence relates to Father Rutt's work in Ajung, 1956-1958, including work with orphans and the beginnings of the Trade School; his involvement with the development of St Bede's House (the Mission's new evangelistic centre for university students) in Seoul, and the administration of the Diocese of Taejon from 1968. Also includes manuscript and typescript copies of articles written by Father Rutt, including 'The Story of the Church in Korea', and 'Mandarins and Midshipmen: the story of the Korean Mission, 1890-1910'. Notes with these articles include lists of Mission personnel, churches and hospitals of the Mission, 1890-1910, and a commentary on the spelling of Korean place names.

Administrative HistoryCecil Richard Rutt arrived as a missionary priest in Korea in 1954. On the death of Father Pak Augustine in 1956, he took over responsibility for the parish of Anjung until 1958. In 1966 he was consecrated as Bishop, and served as Assistant Bishop of Taejon until 1968 when he was enthroned as Bishop of Taejon.
