Administrative HistoryThe Christian Frontier Council was formed in 1942 by a fellowship of about 30 people of all denominations who held responsible positions in secular life, with the approval of leaders of the Church of England, Church of Scotland and Free Churches 'to explore practical implications of faith'.
Custodial HistoryThis collection was deposited with Selly Oak Colleges Library in 1979. It was then transferred to the Orchard Learning Resources Centre which was opened in 1997 following the merger of the Selly Oak Colleges Library and the Westhill College Library. In 2000, the custodianship of all archive collections held at the Orchard Learning Resources Centre was transferred to the University of Birmingham

In 1958 the CFC's publication 'Christian News- Letter' combined with 'World Dominion'. The World Dominion Press, founded in 1924, was the publishing arm of the Survey Application Trust. The OLRC also holds records of the Survey Application Trust [DA 41]
