| Description | Working papers for publications by Sir Edmund Kerchever Chambers, 1903-1946, or for articles and publications to which he contributed. Papers comprise files of manuscript notes with detailed references to manuscript and printed sources, press cuttings, and a small number of proof copies for particular publications. From notes recorded on the file sleeves, it seems that Chambers may have periodically sorted through his notes, designating certain files worthy of keeping and discarding others. A date is often noted at this point. |
