Predominantly English; two items in French and one letter in German. Pasted in the front of the album is a book label of Edith Barling.

Administrative HistoryEdith Madge Barling (b c 1888) was one of two daughters of Sir (Harry) Gilbert Barling (1855-1940) and Katharine Jaffray (nee Edmunds, d 1920). Sir Gilbert Barling was surgeon at the General Hospital, Birmingham, 1891-1915, Professor of Surgery, University of Birmingham 1893-1912 and Vice-Chancellor and then Pro-Chancellor, 1913-33
