DescriptionLowe states the evidence taken before the Select Committee is a very complete brief for Miss Martineau, and additions were provided by a report of the trial before Lord Denman. Suggests Webster's book 'The Report of the Municipal Corporation Commission', and Baines' 'History of Liverpool'. Lowe suggests a full understanding of the case would be facilitated by the Report of the Shipping Dues Commission, and a perusal of his two speeches, one published and the other on the second reading of the Bill.
