She then describes her declining health and reports on her resignation from writing for the 'Daily News' , closing her 'literary career of 45 years'. She sends him a copy of the Editor's reply to her letter of resignation (see HMLAdd/28) and writes about her retirement. She also writes in detail about the illness, state of mind and daily life of Miss Napier which she hears about from her niece, Jane.
