DescriptionLetter written from [Ambleside] to Foxholes, dated 1 March discussing her health and her thoughts that she may not have long left to live. Discusses the orders of her doctor to drink champagne and brandy, and to take opiates. Mentions arrangements for leave for her helpers Jenny and Caroline. Discusses Rachel, and arrangements of cousin Fanny arriving to assist Harriet in order to allow Jenny to go to Edgbaston to see her parents. The letter also notes the Arnolds' departure and discusses the success of some of her books, including 'Household Education' and 'Positive Philosophy'. Mentions the 'Daily News' is gloriously prosperous as it deserves. Harriet writes requests for autographs are coming in fast, and as a P.S., Harriet notes that Robert had sent her an article from the sporting section about a racehorse named after her 35 years ago. The original envelope is included.
