Description | Six initial volumes were compiled by Harold Turner between 1977 and 199? covering new religious movements in primal societies. These volumes drew upon the extensive documentary resources which had been collected by Harold Turner for his research, but also include additional material which does not appear to have been in Harold Turner's possession at that time. Many of these items subsequently formed the basis of what is now referred to as the Harold Turner collection. Following the publication of these volumes it was realised that there was further scope to disseminate the contents of the collection. The collection as it then existed was microfilmed in 1993, following the order of the collection at that time. There are 1215 microfiche in total. Seven printed indexes accompany the microfiche. Although these finding aids have now been replaced by the online catalogue they may provide some additional information which may be of interest to researchers. Harold Turner allocated unique item numbers to the collection in his printed indexes, the microfiche project subsequently allocated a separate set of numbers. The current online catalogue does not refer to any previous reference numbers but author names may be used to cross reference |
