DescriptionLetter dated 12 April. Chamberlain informs Hicks-Beach [1837-1916, politician and first Earl St Aldwyn] that he has been called to a meeting with the King. He sends a copy of a telegram which he writes he is prepared to send to [Alfred] Milner [1854-1925, public servant and politician] unless Hicks-Beach has any serious objections. In a postscript he comments: 'What I fear most of all are compromising telegrams from Kitchener or Milner before we have ourselves decided.'
