Description	Copy of letter written from the House of Commons, dated 24 June and addressed 'Dear Mr C.' Parkes [1848-1919] discusses his decision to resign at the end of the present parliament, describing his alienation from the government's policies and attitudes. He adds that he still believes in drawing the Empire closer together through fiscal policy and will remain Chamberlain's supporter on this issue. JCLAdd/474 appears to be Chamberlain's reply to this letter.
