Description | Letter of commiseration on his election defeat: 'We knew that the seat was a doubtful one, but counted, too confidently as it turns out, that your personal influence would be able to retain it'. He also offers his thanks for Morrison's support for the Government and Liberal Unionist Party. The letter then continues with comments about the conduct of the recent general election and expresses concerns about attacks on politicians in their private life - 'a new & dangerous feature in our public life'.
