DescriptionChamberlain was a supporter of the Birmingham Jewellers' and Silversmiths' Association, which was established in 1889. He was a guest at the seventh annual dinner of the Association in 1895 and his speech included a strong message of support for the Association as a representative organisation of the trade. [Extracts of the speech are printed on the inside front cover of the Association's annual reports, 1895-97].

Chamberlain writes to [?Henry] Payton, a member of the Association, telling him that he was 'delighted to hear the name of the Jewellers' Assn in the list yesterday. You have made a good beginning & I am encouraged by your example to hope that other traders will follow'.
