Description
Letter, dated 20 January [18]85 and written from 40 Prince's Gardens [London] SW in which he tells Hamilton that he is getting better but is still weak and that his doctor has confined him to his house. This therefore prevents him from attending the cabinet and asks his correspondent to explain his absence to Mr Gladstone 'if he comes to Town...or if not to Lord Granville'. His correspondent is probably Mr E. W. Hamilton who was Private Secretary to William Gladstone in 1885]
