He writes to the Dean (22 February) enclosing a letter of introduction addressed to Sir Augustus Hemming [Governor of Jamaica, 1898-1904] for his daughter, Mrs Henry Woods who is undertaking a visit to the West Indies (23 February). In the letter of introduction he describes Mrs Woods as 'the daughter of the Dean of Westminster and the wife of the ex-President of Trinity College, Oxford'. He says he will be glad if Hemming 'can do anything to make her stay on the island a pleasant one' |
