Written while staying with his grandmother, the Dowager Lady Mary Jerningham, in London.The house of industry girl is dead; the laundry maid is leaving and the dining room at Cossey is turned into bed chambers. With postscript from Elizabeth Blackwell (who is identified in a note in Charlotte's hand as the Dowager Lady Mary Jerningham's maid)
