DescriptionThe second diary kept during her father's last illness and death overlaps with the previous diary (JER/1765), beginning with an entry for 13 July and continuing up to and including part of 15 August

It continues with similar lengthy daily records which concentrate on her father's health and deteriorating condition but include information about other family members, visitors and her daily life and her concerns for her children. The diary includes an account of a short visit to Yarmouth to see her children, 22-25 July. The entry for the day of her father's death, 14 August, is headed 'the fatal day' and it runs to 12 pages. The last page begins with an entry for 15 August which continues in the next volume, JER/1766
