Page of prose beginning 'Some day Fate will drop the curtain on the long tragedy of war'. Galsworthy acknowledges the sacrifices made by the armed forces and their families during the war, mentioning in particular journalists from the West Country. The piece was written for a 'matinee for the War Distress Fund of the National Union of Journalists'. The paper handlist to the collection states that this event was held at the Plymouth Athenaeum.
