Description | Letter written by Joseph Priestley (1733-1804) to unidentified correspondent thanking him for financial support for his experiments. He mentions a Dr. Fothergil and says 'I flatter myself you will not think the contribution ill bestowed, when you see the account I have given the Doctor of the progress I have been enabled to make this last summer, and which I have desired him to communicate to you. I shall probably make another publication in the course of the next year.' Written from Calne, Wiltshire on 31 October 1779. |
