Description | Items comprising a great range of letters, notes, legal documents and other items mounted into fascicules and numbered 73-96, 153-412, 538-1243. The intervening 'missing' numbers presumably relate to items in fascicules which were not included in the Humphreys Bequest or were perhaps included in the KWH/B series at some stage. The original number sequence has been retained.
Ben Benedikz notes: These items from a single numerical sequence. At times Dr Humphreys attempted to designate the date of the document or group of documents by giving a prefix 16, 17, or 18 before the serial number [as in the KWH/B series], denoting its century. He clearly later gave this up as the last several hundred items are not sorted by century but cover all kinds of dates. The items are mounted into fascicules |
