Extent1 item
Date1961
DescriptionLetter written from the Department of English, University of Queensland, dated 27 June. Flint briefly outlines his previous letters to Ross, as he wants to check that Ross has received all of them. He encloses a letter from Dr Rehder, curator of the division of Mollusks at the Smithsonian Museum, regarding the molluscs of the Pitcairn and Tahiti area. He has not yet received any reply to enquiries about the fishes of Pitcairn and Tahiti from Mr G. P. Whitley of the Australian museum, but he will write to him again. Flint goes on to discuss his co-operation with Mr Gardner White and use of the words 'tin-opener' and 'tin-cutter' in Australia and New Zealand. He finishes by stating that he expects to send his additions to Ross's draft chapter very soon.
