TitleLetter from 'Amphy' [Amphilis T. Middlemore] to S[arah] M[argery] F[ry]
Extent1 item
Date1916
DescriptionLetter written from Failand, dated 5 June. 'Amphy' is staying with Sarah's family, as it seems her father is unwell. 'Amphy' assures Sarah that she would be happy to help her family at any time. She also reports on a trip to Bath, where she met an acquaintance named Dick Graham. 'Amphy' notes that Graham is a conscientious objector, and that he 'will have trouble'. She goes on to make some remarks about the harsh treatment of conscientious objectors, and agrees that Fry is 'quite right in [gurding?] at people for being lazy in thinking.' The letter also discusses 'Amphy's' visit to a school and other personal matters.
